Our Outdoor Play space

Our outdoor environment is a much-loved part of everyday life at Gordon Street, offering children a rich, natural space to explore, imagine, and connect with Country. Children spend their days immersed in nature, surrounded by native plants, recycled timber structures, and a fruit orchard that changes with the seasons. The space includes two creek beds, a ropes course, digging patch, trees to climb, open grassed areas for running and movement, large loose parts and blocks for building, and natural landscapes that invite creativity and artistic expression. It is a place where children can feel the breeze, notice the changing sky, and connect with the rhythm of the natural world.

This environment encourages children to lead their own play, build friendships, take supported risks, and engage deeply with the outdoors. It reflects our commitment to sustainability, connection to Country, and providing open-ended experiences where children’s ideas and imaginations are valued and extended every day.
